Hollywood, 1939.聽The town is buzzing. Legendary producer David O. Selznick has halted production on his ambitious new epic,聽Gone with the Wind, the much-anticipated adaptation of Margaret Mitchell鈥檚 novel. The problem? The screenplay simply doesn鈥檛 work.

So what鈥檚 a powerful mogul to do? While juggling the demands of impatient stars, gossip columnists, and even his own father-in-law, Selznick takes drastic action. He summons acclaimed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls director Victor Fleming away from聽The Wizard of Oz. Then, locking the doors and drawing the shades, Selznick confines the three of them to his office. Fueled only by bananas and peanuts, they toil for five frenetic days to forge the screenplay that would become the blueprint for one of the most iconic and enduring films in cinema history.
